Alas, the dawn of the new millennium marked a sharp decline in the amount of muscly young men serenading the public with songs about playing games with their hearts. It seems the age of the boy band has come and gone, leaving us with nothing but our unlimited Spotify premium accounts to browse through.
But fear not–many boy bands have heard the demands of the public and decided to grace us with their presence yet again. We’re not talking about a quick one-show reunion (we’re looking at you, N*SYNC), but full-blown rebirths and the launch of new music.
Check out the top boy band reunions you didn’t know about:
98 Degrees
O-Town “All Or Nothing”
O-Town is currently on tour and get this – they sound awesome. Clearly the group wanted to give it their all because the new video for “Chasing After You” (watch below) rivals some of their bet hits, like “All Or Nothing,” the 2001 Billboard which climbed all the way to #1 on the charts.
O-Town”Chasin’ After You” (2015)
The trio were guest judges on Cupcake Wars, with the winning baker getting their cupcakes served and a concert and after party for Hanson. They’ve also ventured into the brewing industry, calling their beer–yep, you guessed it–“Mmmhops.”
So next time you are reminiscing over the happy-go-lucky ’90s years, now you know you can dive right back in with these boy bands (er…man bands?). Now all we need is a new Spice Girls album, and life will be complete.
Katie Meschke started her publishing career at UCLA as an Arts and Entertainment writer/editor for the Daily Bruin. She has appeared in several films, plays tenor sax and piano and her favorite boy band is O-Town!
