This is one of the most spellbinding performances I have ever seen. Aretha Frankin, at 73 years young, blows the roof off the house at the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors with her performance of “Natural Woman,” one of the Carol King penned hits that helped made her famous back in 1967.
Meanwhile, in the audience, Obama wipes away a tear, Carol King loses it and the whole room spontaneously leaps to it’s feet in one of the most stunning live performances I have ever seen.
If you don’t know what the the Kennedy Center Honors are, well, you’re not alone. We’ve all heard of the Grammys, MTV Music Awards etc.
The Kennedy Center Honors is annual honor given to performing artists for their lifetime contributions to American culture. The Honors have been presented annually since 1978.
