Sheeran’s third studio album ÷ is launching this Friday. So far, the singles he’s released from it are kicking butt. In fact, he took over the first two slots on the Billboard charts with “Shape of You” and “Castle on the Hill.”
Apparently, he’s got something even better up his sleeve. A song called “Perfect,” which is about his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn, is going to outstrip them all, according to Ed Sheeran himself.
“I remember thinking I would never write a song as good as ‘A Team,'” he said in an interview with BBC. “And then “Thinking Out Loud” came, and I was like, ‘Oh, OK, well maybe it’s not impossible.”
He said that helped him have more confidence going into ÷. “Going into this album, there was no worry at all because I knew I’d done it before. It’s not like ‘Thinking Out Loud’ will be the peak of my career,” he said. “It’s definitely happened on this album. There’s definitely one that’s better.”
The new album is out on March 3, 2017.
