Artists should never moonlight as critics on TV. They typically end up only helping their own careers, make fools of themselves mugging for the camera and potentially ruin someone else’s dreams.
What’s even worse is when mediocre artists try to be game show hosts…or “judges” on talent shows. This is the worst form of reality TV – two complete morons trying to court controversy at someone else’s expense. However, in this case, the judges were fired and apologies given to the contestant.
According to the BBC, Two X Factor New Zealand judges, who were sacked for making abusive comments to a contestant, have apologised, at least halfheartedly.
Natalia Kills and husband Willy Moon were fired by broadcaster TV3 after the pair laid into singer Joe Irvine. He’d just performed his version of Michael Buble’s Cry Me A River.
“A lot goes on behind-the-scenes of a reality show and what you see isn’t always the whole story,” said Kills in a statement on her Twitter account.
“The show brought me on to bring my passion, dramatic expression and perspective. I was encouraged to be outspoken and things got out of hand.
“Joe, I hope you can forgive me and I wish you all the best! Be natural, unconventional and be you! Love, Natalia Kills.”
Listen as Natialie Kills goes on a ridiculous rant about “artistic integrity” when she, and her husband, have made careers of making the worst form of derivative pap imaginable.
