After Springsteen canceled a show in North Carolina due to a bill banning anti-discrimination laws, XHamster blocked North Carolina users from accessing their site until the law is repealed.
According to XHamster, the citizens of North Carolina are acting quite hypocritical. The company pulled some data that showed more than 700,000 North Carolina residents searched for either “gay” or “transgender” in the month of March alone.
Mike Kulich, a spokesperson for XHamster, stated that “We have spent the last 50 years fighting for equality for everyone and these laws are discriminatory which XHamster.com does not tolerate.” Kulich went on to say, “We will not stand by and pump revenue into a system that promotes this type of garbage.”
The fight against inequality never ends, but as demonstrated here, Bruce Springsteen has consistently been a fighting voice for the underdogs of the world. The artist canceled a show scheduled to take place in North Carolina this weekend to show his support for those protesting the bill, and has even inspired other artists to do the same.
