The pop star took some time off to deal with depression and anxiety issues caused by lupus. She checked herself into a treatment facility, ditched her phone and focused on getting herself well. That doesn’t mean she wanted to give up music for good. Lately, she’s been slowly easing her way back into the public eye.
First, she released a collaboration with Kygo called “It Ain’t Me.” After that, she released a single called “Bad Liar.”
Now, the video for “Bad Liar” is here, and it was totally worth the wait. In the video, Selena Gomez plays four different characters. She begins by playing a high school student who then sees a couple of people flirting outside the window. Both of those people are played by Gomez as well–one is a blonde woman and the other a male teacher who is slightly creepy in flirting with the blonde.
The final character is the man’s wife–yet again Gomez. Who also happens to be the first girl’s mother. Confused? Don’t worry, the video makes it all clear. With a 1970s vibe, it’s a gorgeous piece of work with some interesting shots and themes. That Farrah Fawcett hair alone is worth the watch.
If this is how Selena Gomez makes her first music video comeback, we’re definitely on board. But wait, there’s more! The end of the video also teases something called “Fetish.” Right now, fans are debating if this will be the next single or even a brand new album. Until then, we’ll have to settle with watching “Bad Liar” on repeat.
