He posted a video of the whole fiasco on Twitter. Apparently, police mistook him for a suspect in a robbery.
“L.A., right now, coming from the studio,” Jean said in the video. “Y’all see the police have handcuffs on me. They just took off my Haitian bandanna. That’s what’s going on right now with Wyclef in L.A. right now. The L.A.P.D. have me in cuffs for absolutely nothing.”

According to Sgt. Duncan of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, they had reason to detain him. A report came in that a man and woman were robbed at gun point at a nearby intersection. The suspect was supposed to be a black man with a dark hoodie. Jean happened to match that description when they pulled him over.
