Blake Shelton Performs Awkward Song about Ex Miranda Lambert

Talk about awkward. Bringing up exes when you’re in a new relationship is never a good idea. But Blake Shelton took it a step further and sang a whole number for his ex Miranda Lambert at the CMT Music Awards.

As everyone knows (especially fans of The Voice), Shelton has been seriously dating co-judge Gwen Stefani. The two started seeing each other after Shelton split with Miranda Lambert and Stefani called it quits with Gavin Rossdale.

Shelton gave a very moving performance of his song “Every Time I Hear That Song” on the CMT Music Awards last night. Sounds innocent enough, but on closer inspection, things start to get a little weird. Supposedly, the song is about Miranda Lambert and has some pretty romantic lyrics.

Miranda Lambert happened to be in the audience, while Stefani was nowhere to be seen. Hmm.

For her part, Gwen Stefani doesn’t seem too upset. She wasn’t able to make it to the awards, but she posted on Instagram about watching her new beau.
