Demi Lovato Ditches Music Industry Thanks to Angry Swifties

What the heck is going on in girl world these days? You have a squad, you get criticized. You criticize the squad, you get criticized. It seems like young stars like Demi Lovato can’t win, and she’s finally had enough.

In a recent interview in Glamour, Demi Lovato spoke out against a certain pop star known for having a “squad” (coughTaylorSwiftcough), and some Swifties weren’t having it.

Demi Lovato thinks squads suck.

“To be honest, and this will probably get me in trouble, I don’t see anybody in any sort of squad that has a normal body,” Demi Lovato said in the interview. “It’s kind of this false image of what people should look like. And what they should be like, and it’s not real. It’s not realistic. ”

She added that she doesn’t think Taylor Swift is very nice to other women. “And I think that having a song and a video about tearing Katy Perry down, that’s not women’s empowerment,” she said. “We all do things that aren’t, but I have to ask myself, ‘Am I content with calling myself a feminist? Yes, because I speak out.'”

“Bad Blood” is notoriously about Swift’s feud with Katy Perry.

A source that spoke to E! News claims that Lovato is just jealous of her. “Taylor has a tight group of women in her life that all have her and each others’ back and sometimes people just want that,” the source said. “She thought it was unnecessary for her to make those comments. They both have never been really good friends.”

Unfortunately for Demi Lovato, the backlash for her comments has been extreme. She hopped on Twitter to attempt to clarify her point of view, but it ultimately didn’t really help anything.
