Dr. Luke Bars Kesha From Performing At BillBoard Awards

Despite the Dr. Luke controversy, it seemed like Kesha’s life was taking a positive turn. She recorded some music with Zedd, played at Coachella and all in all seemed to be taking control again.

You’re probably feeling really smug right now, Dr. Luke.

She was slated to perform a Bob Dylan tribute at the Billboard Awards this coming weekend with permission of Dr. Luke’s label Kemosabe Records. She would be performing the song “It Ain’t Me, Babe.”

However, the label pulled a real jerk move after getting Kesha’s hopes up by rescinding their approval, therefore banning the singer from performing this Sunday.

A TMZ report stated that Kesha would be using the appearance to make a public statement about Dr. Luke that would even use photos of him. According to Dick Clark Productions, which is the company producing the Billboard Awards, this was the reason for the rescinding.

“Kemosabe subsequently rescinded its approval following a media report on Wednesday, May 11, regarding Kesha’s appearance on the BBMAs,” the company said. “Unfortunately, Kesha and Kemosabe have since been unable to come to an agreement for Kesha to perform on the show.”
