Eminem and Rihanna’ Monster Tour is going to be one of the best of the summer, especially since we’ll get to see them perform “Love the Way You Lie.”
Released in 2010 from Eminem’s seventh album Recovery, “Love the Way You Lie” was arguably one of the best tracks of 2010 AND one of the best Eminem’s career.
It was also his best-selling single and took the #1 slot on twenty-six record charts, including the Billboard Hot 100 for an impressive seven weeks. It sold an incredible six million copies in the US, and was the best-selling song of 2010 in the UK.
The video stars Dominic Monaghan and Megan Fox as a couple in an abusive relationship with Eminem and Rihanna in front of a burning house. The not-so-subtle imagery also served as a commentary on both Eminem’s and Rihanna’s troubled relationships with their former partners, Kim Scott and Chris Brown.
Rihanna spoke out about the video’s theme of domestic violence, a topic which she says a lot of people haven’t experienced, as a reason that made the song so powerful.
