Kanye West Not ‘Traditionally American’ Enough for Inauguration Concert

Regardless of political affiliation, most people agree that Donald Trump’s inauguration concert was lackluster. There were practically no big names. And one of the big names who supports Trump–Kanye West–wasn’t invited.

As if that weren’t enough, it’s now come out that the reasoning behind his snub is hilariously awful. Apparently, he’s not “traditionally American” enough.

Who’s laughing now, Donald?

Tom Barrack, the Presidential Inaugural Committee chair, spilled the news. “He considers himself a friend of the president-elect, but it’s not the venue,” Barrack said of Kanye West. “The venue we have for entertainment is filled out. It’s perfect. It’s going to be typically and traditionally American. And Kanye is a great guy, but we just haven’t asked him to perform.”

Hindsight is always 20/20. Maybe now that Barrack has seen how disappointing the inauguration concert ended up being, he’s having doubts about his choice.
