Lauren Jauregui of Fifth Harmony Makes Marijuana Travel Faux Pas

One of the golden rules of traveling is not to bring things on the plane that aren’t supposed to be on the plane. Lauren Jauregui of Fifth Harmony learned this lesson the hard way when she got busted for marijuana possession.

The ladies of Fifth Harmony were about to get on a plane at Dulles Airport in Virginia when Jauregui was stopped at a TSA checkpoint. The TSA agent on duty searched her bag and found what looked like marijuana in her carry-on bag.

The ladies of Fifth Harmony know how to work.

Cops were called over, but according to Lauren Jauregui’s attorney, the Fifth Harmony singer wasn’t arrested. Instead, she was “simply given a citation for possession of marijuana and released on her own recognizance.” The attorney also added, “She will address the matter appropriately through the legal system. This will not interfere with any future scheduled performances or activities.”

However, this proved to not necessarily be true since Jauregui didn’t end up making it to Fifth Harmony’s Wednesday night show in Brazil. The other four members, Ally Brooke, Camila Cabello, Normani Kordei and Dinah Jane, carried on with the performance.

Jauregui posted an apology on her Twitter account dedicated to the fans she missed out on seeing in Brazil.

Translated, it reads, “My dear Brazilian harmonizers, I’m sorry I couldn’t see you all. I didn’t get on the plane on time and because of this I had to go to Atlanta. I promise you I’m going to do everything for you because I love each of you with all my heart. I’m sorry.”

As the talk grew, she later expressed her desire for the media to focus elsewhere.

She makes a good point, though anyone in her shoes would probably want the media to turn a blind eye.
