Old ‘Habits’ Die Hard On Tove Lo’s “Queen Of The Clouds”; Katy Perry Tour Announced

Tove Lo has had quite a year. The Swedish born songstress is wrapping up some final US tour dates in support of her EP Truth Serum and, in just a few days, her highly anticipated full length debut, Queen Of The Clouds, which will be out on Island Def Jam on 9/30.

Success in America came fast for Tove Lo – a whirlwind that came courtesy of her self-released smash “Habits (Stay High).” The single is still going strong with cross over radio play on pop and rock stations, not to mention 25 million YouTube views and counting.

The video for “Habits” follows Tove Lo on a night of partying filmed mostly from the bird’s eye view of a shot glass. Think GoPro camera mounted on a bottle of booze and you’ve pretty much got one of the best videos of the year.

Tove Lo also just announced that she’ll be the opening act for Katy Perry’s tour later in the year. (We’re not sure if Katy Perry “stole” Tove Lo from the Taylor Swift tour, in addition to her dancers, so you’ll just have to wait and see if Swift writes a song about it).

Though the Perry tour is sure to lift her profile even higher, Tove Lo is no stranger to the big leauges (Truth Serum came out on Island  records as well) and she’s found near instant success in the United States including slot on the bill of the famed Sunset Strip Music Festival a couple of weeks back.

Queen Of The Gods was inspired by her current relationship, though not without its own set of Truth Serum-esque complications, “I’m in Sweden, he’s in Australia, so the long-distance is tough,” according to Lo” So the songs are a lot of, ‘I just want your hands on me,’ ‘Where are you?’ Skype is a savior, definitely.”

Remaining Sept/Oct tour dates for Tove Lo include San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, New York, Chicago and Boston. Buy tickets here on StubHub.

The next time around is going to be big for Tove Lo so try and see her at a smaller venue while you can!
