Diplo has had an amazing year. The LA-based DJ, producer, rapper and songwriter was on the list of mot successful artists and has kept busy performing and managing his record company Mad Decent, in addition to running his non-profit Heaps Decent.
His 2013 EP “Revolution” debuted at #68 on the Billboard 200.
During his rise fame, Diplo worked with British musician M.I.A., who later went on to form, along with producer Switch, a Jamaican dancehall project called Major Lazer.
Diplo has also been honing his producer chops with artists like Britney Spears, Beyoncé, No Doubt, Justin Bieber, Usher, Snoop Lion, and G-Dragon.
Where did Diplo’s name come from, you ask? Diplo is short for Diplodocus, his favorite childhood dinosaur.
