Imany’s song “Don’t Be So Shy” comes from her second studio album The Wrong Kind of War. The album is set to debut in the United States on March 10th, so this is just a teaser of what we can expect. So far, “Don’t Be So Shy” has been streamed over 300 million times and even gone platinum in several European countries.
Now, electronic duo Filatov & Karas have given the the single a fun new remix to go with the music video. The original version of the single was recorded for a French film called Sous Les Jupes des Filles. The video stays true to that style.
“The song was written for a specific scene when two women were about to make love for the first time,” Imany said. “One of the two was very insecure. The song is about dropping the layers that prevent you from being yourself.”
She added that the video is all about exploration and liberation. “It’s about them being brave enough to love who you want to love any way you want to love them,” she stated. “At the end of the day, it all comes down to being yourself, and feeling free to be yourself. That’s the message behind the video.”
